Stone Carving

Diana's second child suffered a cot death and the desire for a suitable memorial led to her carving in stone.

Having learned about lettering the design of the stone posed no problem, but learning to handle chisel, hammer and stone, was a whole new departure.

Diana worked with many families producing headstones and plaques which were a personal and fitting tribute to their loved ones.

Families were often intimately involved in the design of the headstone, before that the stone was carving by hand.

Diana also completed several architectural commissions at this time including large scale business park signs, lettered paving for cathedrals , and many decorative and lettered plaques.

Diana works and exhibits in her studio gallery in St Davids.
